Dear Father,
I love the tagline for Bridgeway Community Church of York, PA – “The perfect place for imperfect people”.
Throughout the years, the church in America has allowed the world to view the church as the place people who think they are perfect go to worship. However, the church is the place where imperfect people gather, people who have experienced suffering and brokenness. The church is the place where people who have messed up their lives go to fellowship with other people – just like themselves.
You love imperfect people, dear Father! You forgive us. You heal us. You restore us. You use us for Your purposes, even as we continue to mess up our lives.
This is the essence of a testimony – “I am imperfect, just like all of us, but God loves me anyway, just like He loves you too.”
Father, inspire the people of this congregation to share their testimonies – first with one another and then with the people of York, PA.
