Dear Father,

The men and women You call into ministry are busy.  They have work to do, to keep in close relationship with You, to build ministries, and to shepherd the people You have put under their care.

Father, I lift up the entire pastoral community today.  I ask that You strengthen the faith and the joy of pastors in cities across America who may be discouraged today.  I also pray that You afford them as many opportunities as possible to communicate the lessons You have taught them.

This all comes to mind after visiting the website of Bloomsburg Christian Church, Bloomsburg PA.  I see the dedication to blogging by Pastor Eric Miller.  I ask for Your blessings on his blogging and that lives will be touched by it.

I found this text in his article entitled “Don’t Wait Any Longer“, published on January 14, 2016:

You and they are to build each other up, to care for each others’ needs, and to be there to offer godly wisdom, support and re-directing in the times of trouble you will still face as a follower of Christ in this fallen world. You may not describe reaching out to them as ‘counseling’ but, in some ways, that is what it is. And that is not only ‘ok’ to do – it is essential to do so that we – as brothers and sisters in Christ who will still have troube in this world –  might encourage one another as the day of Christ’s second coming approaches.

Father, this wording speaks into the calling I believe You have given me – to encourage churches to encourage their congregations to share testimonies.  Eric’s text has it all – a testimony builds one another up; it is caring; it offers godly wisdom for times of trouble; it is counseling; it can be encouraging; and it is essential.

I pray You will increase the testimonies at Bloomsburg Christian Church.  I pray people will share their testimonies inside the congregation.  I pray that one day a few courageous souls will share their testimonies on the church website.

In Jesus name,

Amen
